Trade service payments — collect at the job site, recurring without leakage.

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and trade-service operators take payment at the job site, run recurring service-agreement programs, and invoice on capital projects. Tabletop configures the gateway, the recurring engine, the mobile flow, and the payment-plan tool so the cash actually comes in.

What we hear on the ground.

What we hear from HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and trade operators:

  • Tech in the field takes a credit card at the kitchen table on a $4,200 repair — with a swipe terminal that's slow and a card mix that hammers the rate.
  • Customers who can't pay $4,200 today — and no good payment-plan tool to keep the work and avoid 'I'll think about it.'
  • Recurring service agreements (annual maintenance, quarterly service plans) running on manual invoicing.
  • Capital projects (new HVAC system, full panel replacement) on net-30 with slow ACH and no online pay path.
  • Processor relationship that hasn't been audited in years.

How Tabletop solves it.

Concrete service layer:

  • Mobile-ready payment at the job site. Tech takes the card on a mobile-rated terminal that's fast, offline-capable, and tied back to the office system.
  • Payment plans for big-ticket repairs. Customer signs an authorization in the kitchen; pays $400/month for 12 months. Work stays in-house instead of getting deferred or going to a competitor.
  • Recurring service agreements. Annual maintenance plans, quarterly service plans, all on a real recurring engine.
  • Capital project invoicing. Big-ticket installs on net-30 or net-pay-on-completion, with ACH and pay-by-link both available.
  • Right-sized processing. Trade-service rate structures are different from retail. We benchmark and recalibrate.

The stack we deploy.

Common pieces in a trade services build:

  • Payarc CRM — recurring billing, payment plans, customer portal, mobile invoicing.
  • Clover — mobile-ready POS for techs taking payment at the job site.
  • Payarc CRM — invoicing, payment links, ACH, customer portal for capital project billing.
  • Rise CRM — customer relationship layer with service-history tracking.
  • Calanderise — scheduling and dispatch layer.
  • Equipment financing — for fleet expansion, tools, and inventory.

What you actually save.

Real savings depend on your average ticket, your service-agreement volume, and your card mix. Typical surfaces:

  • Processing fees. Trade-service shops on the wrong program can run 3.5-4% effective on big tickets. Right structure typically pulls that down materially.
  • Lost work to financing. Customers who walk on a $4,200 repair because they can't pay today are pure lost revenue. Built-in payment plans recover meaningful percentages.
  • Service-agreement leakage. Manual recurring billing fails — and failed agreements that don't get recovered are pure churn. Recovery flow plus card-updater pulls that back.

Illustrative figure ranges only. Actual savings depend on your statement, your card mix, and the program you select.

Questions, answered.

How do payment plans work at the kitchen table?

Tech presents the plan on a mobile-rated device (typically a tablet); customer signs a one-time recurring authorization for the agreed-upon term. The card on file gets charged on the schedule. Tech leaves with the work approved; office gets paid on schedule.

Can techs take payment offline if cell signal is weak in a basement?

Yes — offline mode queues the transaction locally and settles when connectivity returns. Customer experience is the same.

Will the system integrate with our field-service platform?

We integrate with ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, and other major platforms. Scheduling and dispatch live there; payments and recurring live with us. The integration is configured during the cost analysis.

How do recurring service agreements work?

Customer signs an annual or multi-year agreement at one of two cadences (typically annual prepay or monthly). Billings run automatically on the schedule, with smart-retry and card-updater on failures. Customer-side communication is automated.

What about big-ticket capital projects (new HVAC system, panel replacement)?

Capital projects can run on net-pay-on-completion, net-30 invoicing, or financed payment plans. ACH option is included; financing through partner lenders is available if the customer wants longer terms.
