B2B payments — net-terms invoicing without the interchange penalty.

B2B sellers get hammered on commercial card interchange because nobody set the gateway up to pass Level 2 or Level 3 data. Tabletop configures the gateway, the invoice-with-pay-link flow, and the ACH option so commercial card volume runs at the right rate — and large invoices move to ACH where they belong.

What we hear on the ground.

What we hear from B2B finance leads:

  • Commercial card interchange running 80-100 basis points higher than it should because Level 2/3 data isn't getting passed.
  • Net-30 invoicing on $5,000-$50,000 orders aging into net-45+ because the customer portal doesn't make payment friction-free.
  • ACH option not exposed to customers because nobody set up the bank-verification flow.
  • Recurring B2B subscriptions running on manual invoicing because the recurring engine wasn't set up at onboarding.
  • Processor relationship that hasn't been audited in years because everyone's busy and 'it's working.'

How Tabletop solves it.

Concrete service layer:

  • Level 2 and Level 3 data passing. Commercial cards (purchasing cards, corporate cards) qualify for lower interchange when Level 2/3 data is passed correctly. We configure the gateway to do it — basis points come back.
  • ACH option exposed to customers. Large B2B invoices belong on ACH, not card. We set up the verification flow and the customer portal so ACH is the easy path.
  • Customer portal with stored accounts. Customers log in, see invoices, pay with stored card or ACH. Friction goes down; receivables come in faster.
  • Recurring B2B subscriptions. Monthly subscription products (SaaS-adjacent, recurring supply, retainer-type B2B) on a real recurring engine.
  • Procurement-friendly workflows. PO numbers, custom invoice fields, multi-step approval flows — configured to fit how your customers' AP departments actually buy.

The stack we deploy.

Common pieces in a B2B build:

  • Payarc CRM — the gateway plus invoicing plus recurring plus ACH plus customer portal.
  • Rise CRM — customer relationship layer with B2B account hierarchies.
  • Traditional payment program — right structure for commercial-card-heavy B2B.
  • YellowDog — inventory management for B2B sellers with SKU complexity.
  • Working capital — for B2B sellers with seasonal or growth-driven cash needs.

What you actually save.

Real savings depend on your card mix, your average invoice size, and your current gateway configuration. Typical surfaces:

  • Level 2/3 interchange savings. A B2B seller doing $300K/month with 60% commercial card mix can save 50-80 basis points on that volume just by passing the right data. That's $900-$1,440/month back — just from configuration.
  • ACH conversion. Moving even 30% of card volume to ACH at scale is meaningful. On $300K/month at a 250bp delta, 30% on ACH is roughly $2,250/month.
  • DSO improvement. Customer portal plus stored payment methods plus pay-by-link typically pulls average DSO inside terms within 60 days.

Illustrative figure ranges only. Actual savings depend on your statement, your card mix, and the program you select.

Questions, answered.

What is Level 2 / Level 3 data and why does it matter?

Visa and Mastercard offer reduced interchange rates on commercial card transactions when the merchant passes additional data with the transaction (Level 2: tax amount, customer code; Level 3: line-item detail). Most B2B gateways are configured to pass Level 1 by default, which means commercial cards run at the higher non-qualified rate. Setting up Level 2/3 correctly is configuration, not a different processor — but most processors don't volunteer to do it.

Can our customers pay by ACH from the customer portal?

Yes. Customer logs in, sees invoices, picks ACH, verifies bank with instant verification or micro-deposits. Funds settle in 2-3 days at a fraction of a percent in fees. Most large B2B customers prefer ACH once it's the easy path.

How do PO numbers and procurement workflows work?

Custom invoice fields and PO number capture are standard. Multi-step AP approval flows on the customer side are handled by the customer's AP system; we expose what they need to plug in cleanly.

Will the system handle recurring B2B subscriptions?

Yes. Recurring authorizations on card or ACH, with cadence, proration, plan changes, and dunning all built in. Reporting rolls up to MRR, ARR, churn, and net-revenue-retention metrics.

Can we keep our current accounting system?

Yes. Payarc CRM integrates with the major accounting platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Sage). We configure the integration so settled payments flow back into the GL automatically.
